
Mastodons Conclude Regular Season at UMKC

Kansas City, MO - IPFW will try to sew up the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Summit League Tournament on Saturday night at UMKC. If the 'Dons beat the Kangaroos, they will be the fourth seed, courtesy of North Dakota State's 84-61 win over South Dakota State on Friday night. IPFW would face SDSU.
If the Mastodons fall at UMKC, they will go into the tournament as the 6th seed and face IUPUI.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are led in scoring by sophomore guard Frank Gaines (6-5/190/Ft. Lauderdale, FL) who is averaging 14.4 points a game. Senior guard Ben Botts (6-0/170/Muncie, IN) is second on the team at 13.6 points a game, and junior guard Jeremy Mixon (6-1/175/Indianapolis, IN) rounds out the top-three scorers for the 'Dons at 10.3 points a contest.

UMKC is led in scoring by redshirt senior forward Jay Cousinard (6-6/205/Houston, TX) who is averaging 18.5 points a game. Senior forward Spencer Johnson (6-6/215/Champaign, IL) is second on the team in scoring at 12.2 ppg., while redshirt junior guard Reggie Chamberlain (6-0/170/Kansas City, MO) rounds out the top-three in scoring for the 'Roos at 11.1 points a game.

UMKC was without Jay Cousinard vs. Oakland due to a knee injury. He is a game-time decision for tonight's game with IPFW. The Kangaroos are 0-4 when recording 13 or fewer assists and 0-5 when shooting less than 36.7% from behind the arc. The overall series between IPFW and UMKC?is tied at four. IPFW has never won in Kansas City. Last time out...Ben Botts had a game-high 20 points as IPFW topped UMKC in overtime, 76-72 on December 2 at the Memorial Coliseum. Spencer Johnson led UMKC with 19.
