Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW women's volleyball team continues on its ten-game road swing to open the season on Tuesday evening, as the squad travels south to Dayton, Ohio, to face off against the Raiders of Wright State University (0-3).

NOTES
• Emily Spencer became the first freshman since Fabiana Souza in 2002 to record back-to-back kill games in their first two contests as a freshman at IPFW, and had the highest kill total in a three-set debut in program history.
• Defensive specialist Tessa McGill has reached double-figures in kills in each of her last ten games, tied for the 10th longest such streak in program history. McGill's streak of 19 from last season is the second longest in program history.
• Junior setter Megan Steenhuysen's 27 career double-doubles rank her ninth in the school's record books, and is five behind Julie Huber, who totaled 32 between 1989-92
• The Mastodons have advanced to the Summit League Title Game three times in the program's four seasons in the league
• IPFW graduated its top three kill leaders (Maya Schlindwein, Stephanie Lamberti, and Taryn Parker, as the trio combined for 990 kills, nearly 67 percent of the team's kills a season ago.
• The Mastodons have won 20 matches in a season for two straight years, and 25 times total in the 33 years of the program.
• IPFW claimed the 2010 Summit League Regular Season title, the first for the Mastodon program in its four seasons in the league. With the title, the Mastodons will be the host for the 2011 championships, to be played November 18 and 19.
• With the team's victory over Milwaukee on August 28, 2010, IPFW head coach Kelley Hartley Hutton became the winningest coach in IPFW women's volleyball history.
• Last season against Ball State, Tessa McGill set a new IPFW single-match record with 47 digs on September 14, the second highest total ever put up by a Summit League student-athlete, and the 24th highest in NCAA history.
• With the late addition of Luiza Gomes to the roster, the Mastodons now have had at least one Brazil native on the squad since 2002, a total of ten consecutive seasons (Fabiana Souza 2002-05; Cynara Martins 2004-07; Patty Azevedo 2006-07; Maya Schlindwein 2007-10; and Gomes).
• IPFW assistant coach Jasmine Fullove is the niece of Ball State head coach Steve Shondell, and her younger sister, Jaclyn is a freshman setter on the Cardinal squad. The coaching family continues as two other of Jasmine's uncles are coaches at Purdue, Dave Shondell the head coach and John Shondell an assistant coach.
