SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons come into the final match of the regular season looking for a win, which would clinch the team the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Summit League Tournament, where a loss would put IPFW as either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed.
This season seniors Danielle Bishop and Arianne Mason lead the team with four goals apiece, as Sydney Hoareau and Erin Gill each have three. Rachel Good has scored twice, with Rhea Proctor and Cassie Egle each scoring once. Of Bishop's four goals, three have been game-winners.
Tylar Allison leads the team with four assists, as she now owns the single-season and career assist records at IPFW. Hoareau has two helpers, while eight other players (Bishop, Mason, Gill, Good, Proctor, Maya Reyes, Amber Lawrence, and Sam Pavlika) each have one assist.
Pavlika, the team's freshman goalkeeper, has been in goal for the entire season for IPFW, and has a 1.03 goals against average with 68 saves and a school-record-tying four shutouts.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
IUPUI comes into the squad's season finale having seen its last seven matches decided by one goal or less, including a 1-0 loss at Oakland on Friday evening.
The Jaguars have been out-scored 33-to-12 on the year, but are led by Ashley Doreski, who has four goals scored. Two players - Grace Perkowicz and Mackenzie Calvert each have two scores. Kalli Shepler-Tucker has four assists, as five other Jaguars have one this season.
In goal, Giselle Guzman has played 1278 of a total of 1655 minutes this season, and has a 1.63 goals against average, including a 0.72 GAA in Summit League play. She has 112 saves, and a pair of shutouts.
ALL-TIME SERIES
IPFW holds a 6-3-1 lead in the all-time series between the two teams. IPFW dominated the series early, winning the first four match-ups by scores of 4-3 (2ot), 3-1, 6-1, and 3-0.
The 2006 the teams played to a scoreless draw, before IUPUI rattled off three straight wins in the series to close the deficit to 4-3-1.
The last two times the two teams have faced off have gone in advantage of the Mastodons, a 1-0 win in Fort Wayne in 2010, and a 4-1 win last year in Carmel, Ind. as the IUPUI home field was being occupied for the state high school championships.
LAST MEETING WITH IUPUI
In the 33rd minute, Arianne Mason was able to tap inside the near post off of a corner kick from Tylar Allison for the 1-0 Mastodon lead.
IUPUI was able to tie the match in the 56th minute when Alicia Brock had a 10-yard shot that found the back of the net past IPFW's Kristen McFadden.
However, the Mastodon's weren't stopping there and continued to press the ball into their attacking half of the field in the second half.
Tara O'Toole had her first goal of the night in the 62nd minute when she was able to thread the ball to the far post off of a double assist from Brittany Climmons and Lisa Underwood for the 2-1 lead.
In the 76th minute, once again with the help of Allison and also Sydney Hoareau, Mason's 5-yard shot found the middle of the net to put the Mastodons up, 3-1.
With about 30 seconds left on the clock, O'Toole struck again. Off of a pass from Danielle Bishop, O'Toole had a 10-yard shot that found the back of the net for the 4-1 Mastodon victory.
