Mastodon Netters Go Undefeated in League Cluster

LAS VEGAS - The IPFW women's tennis team completed the final day of the Summit League cluster in Las Vegas, Nev., with a 6-1 win over IUPUI to go 4-0 at Bally's Resort.
The Mastodons improve to 11-7 on the dual season, thus far, while the Jaguars drop to 3-15 (0-4 SL).
IPFW grabbed the early 1-0 lead over IUPUI after sweeping the Jaguars in doubles action.
Marcy Huck and Caterina Kiefer earned the first win for the 'Dons after they took down Alisha Cummings and Danielle Haefele at the No. 1 position, 8-2. The IPFW pair of Anita Henestrosa and Alex Forsyth followed up in an 8-4 win at the No. 2 slot against Vanessa Whyte and Abbey Neff. In a closer match, Frederique Sunstrum and Raquel Vescovi fought hard against IUPUI's Shelby Hullett and Rachael Bridgegroom to earn the 8-6 win at No. 3.
In singles play, the Mastodons earned victories in five of the six matches at Nos. 1, 4, 2, 6 and 5, respectively.
Henestrosa won by a 6-1, 6-0 count over Haefele at No. 1. At the No. 4 spot, Sunstrum earned 6-4, 6-1 wins against Hullett, while Vescovi took down Cummings, 6-3, 7-5, at No. 2. Playing the No. 6 slot, Forsyth defeated Jesika Bays, 6-2, 6-1, while Kiefer had a close first-set win, 7-6 (3), and then blanked Neff, 6-0, at the No. 5 position.
The 'Dons will return to action on March 25 when they travel to Evansville, Ind., to take on the Evansville Purple Aces at 1 p.m. (EST).
