SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW comes into the opener after a 1-1 tie with Michigan State in the squad's only exhibition. In that game, freshman Jackson Tooke gave IPFW a 1-0 lead in the 69th minute of the game. The Spartans answered back quickly with a goal of their own in the 79th minute, as neither team would score in the final 11 minutes of the contest.
Tooke had both of IPFW's shots in the game, as sophomore Brandon Cloutier was in goal for the entire game for the Mastodons, allowing just the single goal.
Last season IPFW went 8-10-2 on the year, advancing to the Summit League Tournament for the first time in program history. Leading the returners this season are a pair of four-year starters for the Mastodons in defender Brent Helton and midfielder Mitch Falkenstern.

Detroit comes into the Sunday's contest after falling to Summit League foe IUPUI on Friday afternoon by a 2-0 score in Indianapolis.
