Mastodons to Take on A-10's Dayton Flyers on Sunday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons will look to snap their season-opening losing streak on Sunday afternoon in Dayton, Ohio, as the Mastodons take on the Dayton Flyers in a 1 p.m. kickoff.

The Mastodons and Flyers have met one time prior to this season, a 2-1 overtime win for Dayton on September 3, 2010 in Dayton, Ohio.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW comes into the game with an 0-6 record, and looking to snap a seven-match losing skid after falling in the first round of the Summit League Tournament a year ago.
In the team's last game, the squad saw Loyola reach the back of the net with less than two minutes left in the game to topple the Mastodons 1-0 on Friday evening.
This season, the 'Dons have scored a pair of goals, one each from Brent Helton and Jackson Tooke, while Mitch Falkenstern has assisted each. Kyle Ackerman has a team-high nine shot attempts, while Tooke has put four on goal this year.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brandon Cloutier has a 2.18 goals against average, with 22 saves in just over 535 minutes of action this season.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton comes into this non-conference battle with a 5-1 overall record, the team's only loss coming to the College of Charleston on September 2. The Flyers are receiving votes in the latest NSCAA Poll, and are ranked third in the Mid-Atlantic Regional, one place behind Xavier, IPFW's next opponent.
In the team's last game, a 2-1 overtime win over Gardner-Webb, the Flyers tied the game in the 89th minute, and won it in the 91st, edging the Running Bulldogs 2-1.
Six players have accounted for the team's 16 goals this season, led by Daniel Berko's four goals and three assists, earning him 11 total points on the year. Abe Keller, Evan McCreary, and Andres Acevedo have each scored three times for Dayton. Eddie Jones has a team-best four assists on the year.
In goal,Chris Froschauer has played the entire 540:49 of the year, and has a 1.66 goals against average, and has not had a shutout to his credit yet this season.
