Men's Soccer to Compete at PITT/Nike Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons travel east to Pittsburgh, Pa. to compete in the PITT/Nike Invitational hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, which also includes Duquesne and Delaware.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons head into the weekend looking for their first win of the season at 0-3. IPFW has had 26 shot attempts, six on goal, with each coming up empty, with the team also looking for its first goal of the year.
The Mastodons have seen three freshmen start all three games for the squad, including Jackson Tooke, who leads the squad with five shots, two on goal, while Scott Williams and Nate Shipman each have four shots.
Brandon Cloutier has been in the goal for 265 of the team's 270 minutes this season, and has nine saves and a 2.37 goals against average, including giving up just one goal
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pittsburgh comes into their own invitational with an undefeated 1-0-2 record, beating Howard and tying both Niagara and Saint Francis (Pa.) by matching 1-1 scores.
All three of the Panthers' goals have come from three different players: Ryan Myers, Nico Wrobel, and John Cordier. Myers, Michael Tuohy, and Nick Wysong each have an assist this season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lee Johnston has been in goal for the team's entire 310 minutes with a shutout, a dozen saves, and a 0.58 goals against average.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This is the first time that IPFW and Pittsburgh have met on the soccer pitch. IPFW has faced three teams currently in the BIG EAST conference, and have a 4-5 record against those teams. IPFW is 2-1 all-time against DePaul, 1-0 against Louisville, and 1-4 against Notre Dame.
