Mastodons Set for Homecoming Battle with Big Green

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons will look to snap out of its two-game losing skid on Saturday evening, when the squad hosts the Dartmouth Big Green in a 7 p.m. tip-off at the Memorial Coliseum.

In their last game, a 64-57 loss at Northern Illinois, Gabas Maldunas scored a game-high 18 points, as the Big Green overcame a 13-point second half deficit to take a lead with just under eight minutes to play, before falling to a 6-0 game-ending run from the Huskies. Alex Mitola scored 13 points, while John Golden scored a dozen. Muldunas pulled down eight rebounds, while four players - Golden, Maldunas, Mitola, and Malik Gill each dished out two assists.
On the season, the Big Green put four players into a double-figure scoring average, led by Mitola's 13.0 per game, while Maldunas averages 11.4, Golden, 11.0, and Connor Boehm 10.8. Tyler Melville is just off of the double-figure pace at 8.8 points per game. Maldunas pulls down an average of 10.4 rebounds per contest, as the Big Green out-rebound their opponents by an average of 8.8 rebounds per game.
Mitola and Maldunas lead the team with 14 and 12 assists, each, Maldunas leads the team with four blocked shots, while Kevin Crescenzi and Gill each lead the team with six steals.

Dartmouth comes into the game in the middle of a three-game midwestern road swing, having faced off against Northern Illinois on Thursday, and to face Illinois on December 10.

BALANCING ACT
This season, IPFW has employed a balanced offensive attack that has seen six different players lead the team in scoring at least once in the team's eight games, with seven players scoring at least 19 points in a game this year, with five of those reaching the 20-point plateau.
IPFW VS. THE IVY LEAGUE
IPFW is 2-0 all-time against Dartmouth, with both of the wins coming in the last two seasons. That pair of games are the only meetings between IPFW and the current members of the Ivy League.

• IPFW has had eight players score in double figures in at least one game this season for IPFW, while seven of the team's 10 games have had a different leading scorer.
