
Men’s Tennis Takes Two 6-1 Losses on Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's tennis team lost 6-1 to UIC on Saturday afternoon and then came back to take another 6-1 loss to No. 50 Michigan State on Saturday night at the Pine Ridge Racquet and Fitness Center.
IPFW won the No. 1 Doubles match as Daniel Kang and Joao Freitas won 8-5, but the Flames took No. 2 Doubles 8-6 and No. 3 Doubles 8-5. The tandem of Connor Andrews and Martin Muadi represented IPFW in No. 2 Doubles and the duo of Andres Cobos and Jonathan Raa played in No. 3 Doubles.
Cobos recorded the lone win of the match against UIC with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Alan Reifer in No. 2 Singles. Martin Muadi nearly recorded a win, but he was defeated 6-7, 6-4, 10-8.
No. 50 Michigan State visited IPFW in the nightcap. Muadi once again played well for the 'Dons as he won 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 over Christian Roehmer in No. 6 Singles.
Kang also put together an impressive performance in No. 1 Singles against No. 97 Aaron Pfister. Kang took a 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 loss.
The team of Kang and Freitas lost 8-6 in No. 1 Doubles and the team of Muadi and Andrews lost 8-4 in No. 2 Doubles.
