Trio Earn Summit League Academic Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - A trio of IPFW men's tennis players - Gerard Guell, Martin Muadi, and Karl Wangensten-Oye - have earned 2015 Summit League Academic All-League honors.
Guell and Wangensten-Oye were named to the All-League squad, while Muadi ended his career as the program's career wins record holder.
Guell, who has a 3.93 grade point average in civil engineering, ended the season at IPFW with a 17-17 mark, including a 14-12 mark at No. 1 singles during the spring season. Guell also went 23-16 in doubles, including a 14-11 mark at No. 1 during the spring, a 12-8 total with Muadi.
Wangensten-Oye has a 3.96 grade point average in civil engineering, and played primarily in the singles lineup for IPFW, and put together a 29-7 overall record, including going 9-0 at No. 5 singles and 11-5 at No. 6 during the spring where he was 20-5 overall and ended the season on a four-match win streak.
Muadi, who has a 3.69 grade point average in electrical engineering, was 21-12 overall in singles, going 14-8 during the spring, 3-2 at No. 4 singles and 11-6 at No. 5. In doubles action, he was 22-14, including a 20-11 mark with Academic Team member Guell.
The Mastodons closed the 2015 season as the Summit League Tournament runner-up, falling to nationally ranked Denver in the finals of the Championship.
