Softball Set for Four in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The IPFW Mastodons will face off in four games for the Purple and Gold Challenge hosted by Lipscomb University over the weekend, with one game Friday, two on Saturday, and one on Sunday.

Brittany Kachur (.400) and Megan Flenniken (.346) are also batting over .300 this season. IPFW's six home runs this season have come from six different players, as Ashleigh Bousquet, Dani Pugh, Alex Bousquet, Hillary Kartman, Miranda Kramer, and Stephanie Beuther have each hit longballs this season.
The pitching staff is led by Kramer, who is 3-3 with a 2.81 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 32.1 innings of work, with Flenniken sporting an even 1-1 record with 22 strikeouts in 21 innings, as the pair have combined for just 16 walks over the 53.1 innings of combined effort this season.
SCOUTING THE MINERS
UTEP comes into the tournament with a 6-8 overall record on the 2013 campaign, and is 1-1 against teams from the Summit League, splitting two games with South Dakota on February 23 and 24 at home.
Kawehoikalani Netane leads the team with a .410 batting average, with Erika Arcuri hitting .341, as the pair are the only regulars above .300 on the year. Alanna Leasau has a team-high three home runs and 16 RBI's, while Netane has 10 runs scored and Arcuri nine.
Six pitchers have seen time in the circle for UTEP this season, with two, Danielle Pearson and Colleen Hohman combining for 73.1 of 93 total innings. Pearson is 2-3 with 19 strikeouts in 38 innings of work with a 3.13 ERA, while Hohman is 3-3 with 33 strikeouts in 35.1 innings and a 3.76 ERA.
