Women's Tennis to Play for Championship after 4-0 Win in Tournament

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the fifth straight season, the IPFW Mastodons will play for the Summit League Title, and a berth into the NCAA Championships after a 4-0 win over the South Dakota Coyotes on Friday afternoon at the Dr. Rudy and Rhonda Kachmann Tennis Center.
The Mastodons made quick work of the doubles point, as the team of Kristine Lindal and Marcy Huck were the first to finish at No. 3, winning 8-1, before Summit League Player of the Year Henestrosa and Caterina Kiefer took a 8-6 win at No. 1, giving IPFW the doubles point.
Henestrosa wasted no time in singles, winning at No. 1 6-1, 6-0, as Kiefer finished close behind with a straight-set 6-2, 6-3 victory. The match concluded at No. 4 singles, where Miloslava Shustova won 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the four points necessary for an IPFW win, as the remaining three matches were abandoned with the result.
The Mastodons will face off against the winner of South Dakota State and Kansas City at 1 p.m.
