Trevino and Norgren Lead IPFW at Bowling Green Invite

BOWLING GREEN TOURNAMENT RESULTS
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The doubles pair of Carlota Trevino and Ella Norgren placed third in the second doubles flight, as the squad also picked up three fourth-place finishes overall at the 2013 Bowling Green Invitational.
Trevino and Norgren, who fell in the first round, came back to defeat the team of Li and Miller of Duquesne by an 8-2 score, and then the squad of Stelmaszak and Consonery, also of Duquesne, by an 8-7 (5) score.
Sato, who opened the tournament with a 1-1 mark in Flight No. 1, fell in the third-place match by a 6-3, 6-4 score to Katelyn Nguyen of Toledo.
Norgren, who also went 1-1 to open the tournament, fell 6-1, 6-4 to Emily Mazzola of Toledo in the third place match of Flight No. 2, earning a fourth-place finish.
Marcy Huck, playing in the No. 4 flight, fell 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (7) in the third place match to Mackenzie Bowman of Toledo.
Miloslava Shustova, took fifth by winning her final match, playing in the third flight. She defeated Spencer Caravaggio of Duquesne in straight sets, 6-4,6-3 to place fifth.
The doubles team of Shustova and Sato defeated the pair of Witte and O'Gara of Cincinnati, before falling in the fifth place match to the Bowling Green duo of Chiricosta and Fillis by an 8-3 score, placing sixth.
The 'Dons picked up a pair of seventh place finishes from Trevino in the fourth flight, and Sofia Sorokina in the fifth flight, while the doubles team of Lindal and Huck placed eighth in the first flight.
The Mastodons return to action next weekend, as the squad travels north to East Lansing, Mich., to compete in the Spartan Invitational.
