Kang Sets Career Win Mark as 'Dons Sweep Cougars

ROCKFORD, Ill. - IPFW senior Daniel Kang became the program's career singles wins leader, as he and the Mastodons swept the Chicago State Cougars 7-0.
Kang's win came at No. 1 singles via a 6-3, 6-1 score over Sergiu Muresan, and was the next-to-last finishing match of the afternoon for IPFW.
The Mastodons opened the day by sweeping through the doubles point, winning all three matches in doubles. Martin Muadi and Gerard Guell won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, before the win by Kang and Andres Cobos at No. 1 doubles (6-1) secured the point for the Mastodons. IPFW got the sweep via a 6-2 win by Jonathan Raa and Karl Wangensten-Oye at No. 3.
Cobos made quick work of Julian Chavez at No. 3 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0, before Wangensten-Oye won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles. The Mastodons claimed the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win by Muadi over Luis Ulloa at No. 5 singles. Raa won 6-3, 6-3 over Uros Pajic at No. 2 singles, before Kang brought home his record-setting win at No. 1 singles. The match closed with a 6-4, 6-4 win by Guell over Mario Noboa at No. 4.
The Mastodons return to action this evening when the team faces off against UIC.
