PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
For the second time this season, the Mastodons earned both the Summit League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, as Corey Tom and Raphael Kotzock were honored for the week of October 6-12, respectively. Tom earned his first career honor, while Kotzock earned his second in three weeks. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Tom scored two goals for the Blue and White during the week, including a game-winning penalty kick against Oral Roberts on October 11. Kotzock earned his third shutout of the season against the Golden Eagles after making five saves. As of October 16, Kotzock ranks second in the league for most shutouts, is third in saves (32) and save percentage (.821), and fourth in goals against average (0.86).
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The 'Dons are led offensively by Tom's nine points, coming off four goals and an assist. Austin West has eight points off four goals, while Jacob Murphy leads the team with three assists. For the year, West has 12 shots on goal, with Tom closely behind with nine shots on goal. Of all student-athletes with at least 10 shots, Stephen Danielian leads the team with a shots on goal percent of 0.455.
Both Cody Schweitzer and Kotzock have split time in goal, each starting six matches. Schweitzer has made 29 saves, earning a .727 save percentage and a 2-3-1 record, one of which was a shutout. Kotzock has earned 32 saves and a .821 save percentage, while holding a 2-2-3 record. Additionally, Kotzock holds a 0.86 goals against average, including three shutouts. As of October 15, Kotzock is tied for 33rd nationally in save percentage and 44th in goals against average.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Kosta Kordistos, Eric Kronenberg, and Teddy Mullin lead the Pioneers, each with nine points. Kronenberg and Mullin each have four goals and an assists, while Kordistos has three goals and three assists. Oliver Brown and Ryan Massey have split time in the net for Denver, each starting at least five matches. Brown sits second in the league with a 0.71 goals against average tied for third with two shutouts. Brown has earned a 4-0-0 record this season with a .667 save percentage. Massey has a 1.51 goals against average and a .450 save percentage, while recording a shutout and a 3-3-0 record this year.
