VALPARAISO, Ind. - The IPFW women's tennis team swept past the Valparaiso Crusaders 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Courts of NWI.

Carlota Trevino - who played at No. 3 doubles with Ella Norgren, and at No. 6 singles - did give up a set all match, winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles, and 8-0 in doubles.

Five of the six singles matches for IPFW were settled in two sets, including a 6-1, 6-1 win by Marcy Huck at No. 5 singles, and 6-1, 6-0 by Miloslava Shustova at No. 4. Mayu Sato won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1, while Sofia Sorokina topped her opponent 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3. The longest match of the afternoon came at No. 2 singles, where Ella Norgren held on for a 6-3, 1-6, 10-5 victory.

In doubles, where IPFW got the first point of the match, the aforementioned pair of Trevino and Norgren swept their opponent. Sato and Huck won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, as Shustova and Emily Richardson won 8-3.

The squad returns to Fort Wayne for a pair of Sunday matches against Marquette at 10 a.m. and Indiana Tech at 2 p.m.
