Mastodons Fall to In-State Foe Evansville 5-2

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The IPFW women's tennis squad fell 5-2 to the Aces of Evansville on Saturday afternoon, in the first match of a two-match Indiana road swing, and will face off against Butler on Sunday.
The Aces (4-8) took the doubles point, despite the Mastodon pair of Marcy Huck and Mayu Sato winning 8-4 at No. 1.
In singles action, the Mastodons got wins at No. 4 when Miloslava Shustova won 2-6, 7-5, 10-7, and at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-4 win by Carlota Trevino.Â
In one of the longest matches of the afternoon, Evansville picked up a narrow 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, while the Aces won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 and 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3.
With the loss, IPFW falls to 8-7 on the season.
