Baseball Prepares For Midweek Clash At Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - In its last game before Summit League play begins, the IPFW baseball team will travel to Purdue for a midweek non-conference game on Wednesday, March 26 with first pitch set for 5 p.m.

Scouting the Boilermakers:
Purdue enters the midweek contest with a 3-16 record, after going 2-2 last week. The Boilermakers defeated Butler and then went 1-2 at Southern Illinois, including a 5-4, 16-inning loss. The Boilers began the season 1-14, with the lone win coming against Butler back on March 1. Purdue was swept by LSU and dropped a four-game series at San Diego State before beating Butler for a second time. The team begins Big Ten play on Friday at Illinois.
Purdue leads the all-time series 21-2, but both IPFW wins have come in the last five years, including a 22-19 win over the Boilermakers in Fort Wayne on April 1, 2009. Purdue is 15-0 all-time at home against the Mastodons. Last year's scheduled game at Purdue was cancelled due to snow.
