Mastodon Volleyball to Face Off Against Pair of Ranked Teams

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's volleyball squad will face off against a pair of nationally ranked teams, including hosting top-ranked Loyola on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE RAMBLERS
In the team's last game, a three-set victory over Saint Francis (Pa.), Cody Caldwell led the Ramblers with 14 kills on 16 swings for an attack percentage of .875, as Loyola had a team attack percentage of .544.
This season the Ramblers hit a .382 percentage - best in the country. Joe Smalzer and Thomas Jaeschke have 219 and 211 kills, respectively, with Jaeschke leading the pair with a .387 attack percentage. Peter Hulz has a team-best 710 assists, while Smalzer has served up 48 aces (0.73 per set).
Peter Jasaitis and Jaeschke each have 122 digs, while Hulz has 105. Nicholas Olson leads the team with 78 blocks (1.13 per set), while Owen McAndrews has 53 blocks this year.

In the last match, a four-set loss to Penn State, Geoff Powell knocked down 17 kills, while Greg Petty had 14 and Eric Fitterer 11. BJ Boldog dished out 47 assists, while Lucas Yanez picked up seven digs.
This season the team is led by Powell and Petty who have 241 and 236 kills, respectively. Fitterer and Bobby Walsh each have over 100 kills as well with 140 and 114. Boldog has dished out 615 assists. Petty leads the team with 27 aces, as Powell has added 18.
Yanez has a team-best 149 digs, while three others - Petty (94), Powell (91), and Fitterer (90) are each on the cusp of triple digits as well. Walsh leads the team with 88 blocks (1.28 per set), with Powell and Boldog chipping in 47 each.
