FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW softball team will look to add on to its current five-game win streak over the weekend with a three-game Summit League series with the South Dakota Coyotes.
Opponent: South Dakota Coyotes (18-12, 1-2 Summit League)

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW comes into the weekend riding a five-game win streak in which the team has given up just one run. Overall the Mastodons have a team ERA of 1.71 this season - 18th best in the country - as opponents hit just .196 against IPFW pitching.
Leading the way for the pitching staff has been the duo of senior Megan Flenniken and junior Miranda Kramer. Flenniken leads the pair with a 1.54 ERA, and is 10-3 on the season, with 64 strikeouts in 77.1 innings of work. Kramer is 12-4 with a 1.59 ERA and 156 strikeouts in 96.2 innings of work. Kramer's strikeout total ranks sixth in the country, while the pairs' ERA ranks 51st and 58th overall, respectively. Additionally, Kramer has seven shutouts, and Flenniken five, which rank seventh and 17th, each, in the country.
Leading the offense is junior outfielder Larissa Franklin, who leads the team with a .483 batting average, which ranks eighth in NCAA Division I. Ashleigh Bousquet (.361) and Dani Pugh (.344) each hit over .300 as well on the year, with Bousquet leading the team with 10 doubles, and Pugh leading the team with five home runs and 37 RBIs. Pugh's 1.28 RBIs per game rank 12th in the country, while Bousquet's 0.34 doubles per contest ranks 51st.Â

South Dakota comes into the game having dropped four of its last six games, including falling in two of three to open the conference season against Omaha.
Offensively the team is hitting .281, and ranks seventh in NCAA Division I in triples per game (0.37), as Lindsey Boyd and Yvon Minogue each have three, ranked 20th nationally. Katie Dinning leads the team with a .404 batting average, while Minogue (.391), and Morgan Hancock (.358) each hit above .300. Hancock leads the team with five home runs and 26 RBI's, while Allie Daly has four home runs - second-most on the team.
Leading the pitching staff has been freshman Rachel Cue who is 9-7 with a 2.24 ERA, striking out 97 batters in 119.0 innings of work. Opponents hit .223 against the freshman, who has also walked 39 batters. Madison Frain is 8-5, having seen action in 16 games, pitching 67.1 innings and striking out 48.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Mastodons and Coyotes have met seven times total, five of those coming in Summit League play, and one in last seasons' Summit League Tournament. South Dakota took the first meeting in 2009 by a 2-1 score in Kissimmee, Fla., and the Mastodons have not lost since. IPFW took the three-game series in the Coyotes' initial year in the league, before IPFW took both meetings last year. The teams met for a final time at the 2013 Summit League Tournament, where IPFW came away with a 5-2 victory.
