Baseball Set For Home Opener on Tuesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the first time this season the IPFW baseball team will play a true home game as the Mastodons take on instate rival Butler for a single-game on Tuesday, April 1 with first pitch set for 3 p.m.

Scouting the Bulldogs:
Butler enters the midweek contest with an 11-15 record, after going 2-2 last week. The Bulldogs began the week with a 6-2 win over Division III Wabash, followed by a 9-3 loss to Xavier and a 15-1 loss to 10th ranked Louisville. Butler ended the week with a 5-3 win over Valparaiso.
Butler swept the three-game series with IPFW earlier this season: 9-3, 6-4 and 10-9. The lone common opponent so far for the two schools is Purdue, whom the Bulldogs lost to 3-2 and 6-1.
