Women's Tennis Tops Western Kentucky 5-2, Wins Fourth Straight

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The IPFW women's tennis team improved to 8-6 on the season, winning its fourth match in a row with a 5-2 victory over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Sunday afternoon.

The Mastodons captured the doubles point with two wins in the three matches. The No. 1 pair of March Huck and Mayu Sato won 8-5, while Carlota Trevino and Ella Norgren won 8-3 at No. 3 pairs.

In singles action, Sato improved to 19-7 in singles action on the season with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1, as Miloslava Shustova won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 before Huck picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 5. Carlota Trevino closed out the Mastodon victors on the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.

The Mastodons return to action in 13 days when the team travels to Evansville (March 22) and Butler (March 23) for a weekend of matches within the state.
