Mastodons Look To Stay Atop Summit League Standings

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW baseball team hosts reigning Summit League Tournament Champion South Dakota State for a quartet of games beginning with a single nine inning game on Friday, April 18 at 3 p.m. The two teams will square off in a doubleheader at noon on Saturday before the series finale on Sunday at noon.

Scouting the Jackrabbits
SDSU is coming off a 10-9 midweek victory over North Dakota after going 1-2 against Air Force in a weekend series. The Jackrabbits lone win over the Falcons came in a 2-1, 10 innings contest. SDSU has already played six extra-inning games this season, winning four of them. The Jacks are 2-4 in Summit League play, including picking up a win over the Mastodons in Brookings, 2-1. Earlier in the season the Jackrabbits were swept on the road at Omaha, 10-2 and 7-6. SDSU earned a split at Western Illinois, falling in the Summit League opener 1-0 and winning game two 5-2 in 11 innings.
