
Men's Tennis Drops Championship Match to Denver

DENVER - The IPFW men's tennis team dropped its first-ever match in the Summit League Championship, falling 4-1 to the Denver Pioneers.
The loss ends the record-breaking season for the Mastodons with a 19-9 overall record, seven more wins than the previous single-season record.
Denver nabbed the doubles point with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles over Connor Andrews and Karl Wangensten-Oye, before the No. 1 doubles pair topped Daniel Kang and Andres Cobos by an 8-6 score.
Jonathan Raa fell in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, before Cobos lost 6-3, 7-6 at No. 3. Daniel Kang snapped the shutout attempt with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory. Kang's opponent was Henry Craig, who was ranked 102nd, IPFW's first win over a ranked singles opponent in program history.
Denver's Alex Clinkenbeard picked up a three-set, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 win over IPFW's Gerard Guell to clinch the championship for the Pioneers.IPFW's matches at No. 5 with Martin Muadi and at No. 6 with Karl Wangensten-Oye went unfinished in the play-to-completion match.
