TOLEDO, Ohio - The IPFW track & field team put the finishing touches on its pre-Summit League Championship season on Friday evening at the Toledo Invitational.
The small number of athletes at the meet were led by Kayla Zink who had the program's second-best ever discus throw with a toss of 47.79 meters, placing second in the field. Zink also placed 16th in the hammer throw (46.51 meters) and sixth in the javelin (29.34 meters).
Kaeleigh Porter placed 15th in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.61 meters, as Jazmin Zavala placed seventh in the javelin with a toss of 23.61 meters.
Victoria Nida placed 13th in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:06.78, while Kyley Marano cleared 1.55 meters in the high jump.
Alexis Wygant placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 2.75 meters.
The Mastodons head to Fargo, N.D. next weekend for the Summit League Outdoor Championships, hosted by North Dakota State.
