FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's soccer returns home when the Mastodons face the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday, September 17. The match is set to kick off at the Hefner Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.

The Mastodon men's soccer squad returns 17 players who started at least two matches a season ago, including each of last season's top-six point scorers and starting goaltender. SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
Through six matches, IPFW is off to its best start in a season since 2011. During the 2011 campaign, the Mastodons began the season 3-3-0 and finished 8-10-2 overall, securing the No. 2 seed in the Summit League tournament.The 'Dons currently sit 2-2-2 on the year after a 1-1 tie at Northern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. Corey Tom scored the game-tying goal against the Norse off a penalty kick in the 64th minute.
Tom leads the team in both points (five) and goals (two). Tom has placed .364 percent of his shots on goal, including a game-winning goal against Asbury. The Blue and White currently have seven players with one assist each.
Both Cody Schweitzer and Raphael Kotzock have split time in the net for the Mastodons. Schweitzer comes fresh off a 1-0 shutout at Asbury and holds a 1.60 goals against average through 225 minutes played. Kotzock sits third in the Summit League with 12 saves and a .667 save percent through 355 minutes played.

Cincinnati is currently on a three-game losing streak after falling to Xavier 3-0 on Saturday. The Bearcats began the season 0-0-2, with 1-1 ties against both Northern Kentucky and Wright State.The Bearcats are led by Terence Carter, Ashani Walker, and John Manga, each with a goal. Both Alan Rovira and Alejandro Garcia have an assist for the Bearcats. Walker leads Cincinnati with shots (nine), shots on goal (five), and shots on goal percent (.714).
