FORT WAYNE, Ind. –The IPFW men's soccer team takes on the Bowling Green Falcons on Wednesday, October 1. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m., at the Hefner Soccer Complex.

IPFW earned its first conference win of the year following a 4-0 shutout over in-state rival IUPUI. The match saw Austin West record his first-career hat trick, and the first hat trick in a Summit League regular season match since IPFW's Max Touloute accomplished it against Milwaukee on August 26, 2011. Additionally, his hat trick is the first during a conference match since Kansas City's John Bayron Sosa accomplished the feat against IPFW on October 23, 2010.
Raphael Kotzock earned his second shutout of the season, extending his scoreless streak to 282 minutes. Kotzock lowered his goals against average to 0.97, while increasing his save percentage to 0.793.
West and Kotzock were honored with the Summit League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, respectively, for their efforts against IUPUI. This marks the first career honors for both West and Kotzock.
West leads the 'Dons in goals (4) and points (8), while Jacob Murphy leads the team in assists (3).
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Bowling Green is coming off a 1-0 shutout at St. Bonaventure, bringing the Falcon's record to 7-2-0. BGSU leads the MAC with 21 points, with Akron (4-2-1) sitting second with 13 points. The Falcons currently hold the fourth most efficient offense, scoring 2.56 goals per game.The Falcons are led by Pat Flynn's 27 points (12 g, 3 a). Flynn leads the nation with his 12 goals, with the next closest being Colgate's Ethan Kutler (10 g), while his 27 points lead the nation over Kutler's 21.
