
Men's Tennis Tabbed Second in Preseason Poll

ELMHURST, Ill. - 2014 Summit League Tournament runner-up IPFW has been picked to finish second in the 2015 season according to the league coaches in the Summit League Preseason Coaches poll, announced by the league office.
IPFW earned 30 points and a first place vote, while defending champion Denver took home six first place votes and 36 points. South Dakota State (24), Oral Roberts (20), IUPUI (17), Omaha (14), and Western Illinois (6) rounded out the teams in the field.
The squad had a successful start to the fall season, as Karl Wangensten-Oye led the squad by going 9-2 in singles action. Daniel Cardenas and Martin Muadi each picked up seven individual wins in the fall, as the team had a combined 48-46 record during the early portion of the year. In doubles, Muadi and Gerard Guell went 8-3, while Connor Andrews and Derek Romer paired up to go 4-2, with Mastodon doubles teams going a combined 19-16.
The squad opens the spring season on January 23 when the squad hosts Chicago State and Saint Francis (Pa.) at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. The non-NCAA tournament season is closed out during a three-day span from April 24 to April 26 when IPFW hosts the 2015 Summit League Tennis Championships.
