SCOUTING THE JACKRABBITS
South Dakota State has been a streaky team throughout the season, opening the year with back-to-back losses, before answering with back-to-back wins. After a solitary loss to Florida Gulf Coast, the Jackrabbits picked up seven consecutive wins. Four straight wins followed, which was answered by the teams' current four-game win streak.
The teams' last game, a 71-57 win over in-state rival South Dakota was a microcosm of the season, as the Coyotes opened the game by scoring 20 straight points to open the game, only to see the Jackrabbits answer with 18 straight of their own. Reed Tellinhulsen and Deondre Parks each scored 15 points in the win, while George Marshall chipped in a dozen. Tellinhuisen pulled down a team-best eight rebounds, with Jake Bittle handing out four assists.
Parks paces the team on the season by averaging 13.8 points per game, with Marshall adding 13.7 and Cody Larson 13.3. Tellinhuisen is just off of the double figure pace at 9.5 points per game. Larson paces the team by averaging 7.4 rebounds per game, with Bittle handing out 2.8 assists per contest.
