
Women's Basketball Celebrates Homecoming versus Denver

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's basketball team will celebrate Homecoming with an afternoon game against Denver on January 24. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. in the Gates Center. During the weekend's festivities, former player Robin Scott will be inducted into the IPFW Athletics Hall of Fame.

After a 5-for-7 night at the free throw line against South Dakota, IPFW guard Haley Seibert slipped to third among NCAA Division I players in free throw percent at 93.1, for games played through January 22.
Seibert has connected on 95-of-102 attempts for the year, which includes a run of 54 consecutive made. Seibert trails Marist's Madeline Blais, who has made 52-of-55 attempts for a 94.5 percent, and Rachel Theriot of Nebraska who is 59-of-63 (93.7%). To qualify for the national rankings, players must make a minimum of 2.5 free throws per game and play in 75% of their team's games.
Three-Point Streak...
The IPFW Mastodons have made a 3-point field goal in 483 straight contests, a stretch that ranks as the third longest active streak in NCAA Division I. Iowa State's streak is at the top of the list by making a 3-point field goal in 629 consecutive games. Sam Houston State is the only other team head of IPFW with 580.
Scott Joins IPFW Athletics Hall of Fame...
The IPFW Athletic Department announced four former student-athletes who have been selected for enshrinement into the IPFW Athletics Hall of Fame on January 23, 2015 including Robin Scott from women's basketball.
Scott, who played from 1987-91 was a part of the golden era of IPFW women's basketball, helping her squads to a four-year record of 63-46, the second-best four-year record in program history. Her 1,527 points continue to rank seventh in program history, while sitting in the program top-10 in numerous categories including third in total rebounds (662), third in steals (219), seventh in career field goal percentage (.487), seventh in free throws made (309), seventh in free throws attempted (414), and ninth in blocked shots (52).
She led the team in scoring as a freshman in 1987-88 with 412 points, and averaged at least 13 points in each of her four seasons with the program. Her 68 steals from 1989-90 stands tied as the fourth-most in a season in program history, and joins teammate Lisa Miller in the Athletics Hall of Fame.
