Mastodons Suffer Setback at IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS – The IPFW men's soccer team fought hard, but came up short, 3-0, at IUPUI on Sunday afternoon, dropping an important Summit League match.
The Jaguars got on board 27 minutes into the match as Nick Anderson headed it into the net after receiving the ball from Joshua Ayala. The goal would hold up as the only score in the opening half between both teams.
IUPUI would put the match away in the second half as the Jags' Clint Hoffar beat Raphael Kotzock on a give-and-go from Uriel Macias in the 67th minute. Macias would factor into the final goal of the match as he stole the ball on the left side and beat Kotzock to his right.
Austin West placed three of his five shots on goal, while Jacob Murphy, Darren Doyle, and Britt Watts each added an extra shot on goal. Kotzock made three saves during the match while Jorge Trujillo earned two.
The Blue and White return home for a Summit League matchup against Western Illinoi on Saturday, October 24 at 7 p.m.
