Penalty Kick Downs Mastodons in Midweek Showdown
10/27/2015 2:43:00 PM | Men's Soccer
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A penalty kick in the first half was all that was needed as the IPFW men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Detroit on a cold, rainy Tuesday night. With the exception of the lone goal, Raphael Kotzock earned a save in each shot on goal he faced, earning four during the match.

After being taken down just inside the box, the Titans' Adam Clauss earned a penalty kick, which was made to the lower left corner of the net.

Britt Watts led the way for the Blue and White, placing three of his four shots on goal. Jose Rodriguez earned two shots on goal, while Jacob Murphy, Andy O'Donoghue, and Oscar Uyamadu each added a shot on goal.

For the match, IPFW edged Detroit 8-5 in shots on goal and 12-5 in corner kicks.

The Mastodons heads to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a Friday night match at Oral Roberts, set to start at 8 p.m.
