Former Mastodon Forbes Selected in NBA D-League Draft

NEW YORK - Former IPFW men's basketball standout Steve Forbes was selected in the 2015 NBA D-League Draft held on October 31.
Forbes went to the Idaho Stampede with the fourth pick of the fifth round. The Stampede are the NBA D-League affiliate of the Utah Jazz and play in Boise, Idaho.
Forbes becomes the fourth Mastodon player to be drafted into the D-League, following Frank Gaines in 2013, and Luis Jacobo and Deilvez Yearby in 2014.
Forbes was named First Team All-Summit League in 2014-15 after averaging a team-best 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He shot 57 percent from the field, and converted on over 75 percent of his free throw attempts. Forbes was also a 2013-14 Second Team All-League selection.
