
IPFW Welcomes Austin Peay To Memorial Coliseum On Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- IPFW will play its first home men's basketball game in three weeks when it welcomes Austin Peay University of the Ohio Valley Conference on Saturday afternoon, December 12, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Mastodons (7-4) of second-year head coach Jon Coffman will be playing the visiting Governors (4-5) for the second time this season, having already defeated APU (80-77) on November 18 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Through 11 games, IPFW has been led by the backcourt trio of junior Mo Evans/Indianapolis (15.9), redshirt-senior Max Landis/Indianapolis (13.5) and redshirt-freshman John Konchar/Chicago, Ill. (10.5). Austin Peay is coached by veteran Dave Loos, who is in his 26th season at APU and 30th year overall, while the Governors have been led by senior Chris Horton (15.9 points, 13.0 rebounds). Saturday's contest is the second game of a college basketball doubleheader at Memorial Coliseum with the IPFW women hosting Chicago State at 12 p.m.

IPFW has averaged 70.9 points, while allowing 71.2 points.
Last Time Out
Mo Evans scored 21 points to lead IPFW in a 90-65 road loss at Indiana on Wednesday night at Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The Mastodons took an early 4-0 lead at 18:42 after a pair of quick baskets inside from redshirt-junior Brent Calhoun, and John Konchar gave IPFW its last advantage at 18-17 with 11:43 left in the first half, following a conventional three-point play. IU answered with a 12-4 run to lead 29-22 at 8:57. A three-pointer by Mo Evans had the Mastodons within 31-27 at 7:23, but the Hoosiers used a 13-2 run to lead 44-29 with 3:55 on the first-half clock, and led 48-34 at halftime. IPFW battled out of the break and closed to within 56-44 at 16:36 after a layup by Konchar that followed a three-pointer from senior Joe Reed, a layup by Max Landis and another three-pointer from Evans. IU, however, extended its lead to 69-46 at 11:04 with another 13-2 run, but the Mastodons again fought back and pulled to within 74-60 with 7:12 left to play following another layup by Konchar.
