
Men's Basketball to Battle In-State Rival IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The IPFW men's basketball team will look for a season split on Wednesday evening when the Mastodons take on the IUPUI Jaguars in the second of two regular-season meetings between the two schools.

• Against South Dakota State on February 5, IPFW was out-rebounded for the first time in nine games, the second-longest such streak in program history, behind only the 10 consecutive games from the 1992-93 season.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
IUPUI comes into the mid-week meeting looking to snap out of its current three-game losing skid, having fallen to Western Illinois, Oral Roberts, and South Dakota State in the team's last three games.
In the last game, a 63-56 loss to South Dakota State, Marcellus Barksdale and Justus Stanback each scored 10 points, while D.J. McCall added nine. Barksdale had a double-double with 10 rebounds, as the Jaguars out-rebounded IUPUI 38-to-22 including a dozen offensive rebounds - three each from Barksdale and McCall.,
Barksdale and Khufu Najee each dished out three assists, with Barksdale and DavRon Williams each pilfering three steals.
The Jaguars have the lowest-scoring team leading scorer in the country, and is led by Barksdale's 8.3 points per game. Williams (7.6), Najee (7.4), ,and Mason Archie (7.3) each average over seven points per game, with Aaron Brennan (6.5) and P.J. Boutte (6.1) above six points per game. In all, the Jaguars use a rotation of 11 players who average at least nine minutes per game.
Williams shoots a Summit League-best 57.0 percent from the field, while pulling down 6.0 rebounds per game. Boutte leads the team with 3.1 assists per game, as Barksdale has picked up 46 steals while Williams has 19 blocked shots.
