NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Despite the recent snow that came through the Fort Wayne area, the IPFW softball team will make the trip to face in-state rival Notre Dame for a non-league game on March 25 with first pitch set for 5 p.m.

Scouting the Mastodons
The Mastodons are coming off their Summit League series opening at Omaha where the 'Dons were swept by the Mavericks. Kaitlyn Biere had a strong outing in game one, pitching 7 1-3 innings and striking out seven batters while allowing only five hits in the loss. After dropping the opening game 2-1 in eight innings, IPFW lost the final two games by scores of 8-0 and 5-0. For the week, Emily Olszewski led the Mastodons at the plate with four hits and scoring twice. Avery Nelson and Jenna Balthazor each collected three hits. Nelson hit her second home run of the season while she and Kelly Pevely each drove in a pair of runs.
