Mastodons Host IUPUI For Weekend Series

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In what has become a busy week of softball games, the IPFW squad gets right back to action with a three-game Summit League series with in-state rival IUPUI. The two teams will face off in a doubleheader beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 4 followed by a single game on Sunday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m.

Scouting the Mastodons
IPFW is coming off a midweek doubleheader with Western Michigan were the squad dropped both games to the Broncos. Miranda Marion went 3 for 6 over the two games and driving in a pair of runs. Taylor Gordy Prescott had a hit in both games, scored a run, and recorded a stolen base. Prestlee Cooper and Jenna Balthazor each added a double and a run scored for the 'Dons.

Scouting the Jaguars
IUPUI enters the weekend having swept its midweek doubleheader with Valparaiso 6-4 and 11-3. Brooke Boetjer picked up the win in both games to the Jags with a combined eight strikeouts. The Jaguars combined to hit seven home runs, include three each by Eryn Dillon and Ali Mosier. Dillion went deep twice in game one while Mosier hit two of her three homers in Game two – the last of which was a walk-off, two-run homer.
