
IPFW to Honor Bertran and Hold Blue Out Over MIVA Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's volleyball team is set to host Quincy and Lindenwood as a part of a crucial MIVA (Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) weekend series.
The Mastodons host Quincy on Friday, February 26 at 7 p.m. Luis Bertran will be honored prior to the match as a part of celebrating his IPFW career digs record (currently at 821), set February 20 against No. 8 Loyola.
IPFW will conclude its weekend with a MIVA match against Lindenwood on Saturday, February 27, also at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear blue during the Saturday showdown with the Lions as the 'Dons will hold their annual Blue Out match.

IPFW will became the third MIVA program and fifth outside of California to reach the 1,000 match plateau. Head coach Ryan "Rock" Perrotte is in his 17th year with IPFW, and first as the head coach. During his time as a Mastodon, Perrotte has been a part of 435 matches, going 260-179 (.592). As a student-athlete, Perrotte helped the 'Dons to a 22-5 record in 1999, winning the MIVA Tournament and reaching the NCAA Final Four against Long Beach State (L, 3-2). As the assistant coach, Perrotte helped the Blue and White win back-to-back MIVA Tournaments and reaching the NCAA Final Four in 2006 and 2007.
