On the Prowl...
IPFW looks to avenge an early season loss to McKendree as the Bearcats have taken the previous two meetings over the Mastodons, leading the all-time series 2-1. The home team has won each of the three meetings as the 'Dons came out victorious in the first meeting between the teams, 3-2, in Fort Wayne on February 21, 2015. In the previous meeting, the Blue and White reeled off seven-straight points to take the fourth set after trailing 24-19 against the Bearcats. Freshman Max Hanson's collegiate debut was as the server to begin the seven-point rally.A Senior Moment...
IPFW will honor Luis Bertran, David Frazee, Tyler Golsteyn, Nick Smalter, and Andrew Sellan as a part of Senior Day on March 26. The Mastodons and Buckeyes renew their rivalry as Ohio State holds the all-time advantage, 70-37, over the 'Dons. IPFW has dropped the last three meetings with the Buckeyes, but held a four-match winning streak from March 23, 2013-April 19, 2014, including a 3-0 sweep in the MIVA Quarterfinals. The Blue and White's longest winning streak over OSU was 10 matches from January 27, 1990-April 18, 1992. Saturday's match will mark the highest ranking by an Ohio State team that IPFW has faced. The previous high was when the 'Dons faced No. 4 Ohio State on April 2, 1999 and April 29, 2000, dropping each match 3-0. IPFW is 30-49 all-time against a ranked Buckeyes team, with the last win coming on March 5, 2014, when OSU was ranked 14th.Top Dog...

Following Saturday's match, the Mastodons would have faced the top-ranked team in each of the previous three seasons and the first time since 2009 that the 'Dons have faced the No. 1 team which wasn't Loyola-Chicago. The most times IPFW has faced the top-ranked team in a single season was three times in 1991 (USC), 1994 (UCLA), and 2014 (Loyola-Chicago).Diggin' Up History...
