
IPFW Travels to Puerto Rico for Pair of Spring Break Matches

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's volleyball will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a pair of matches against P.R.-Rio Piedras on Tuesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 10. Each match is set for a 5 p.m. start.

An International Affair... The Mastodons are 25-5 all-time against teams outside the United States, including an 8-2 mark against P.R.-Rio Piedras. Against the three Puerto Rican men's volleyball programs (American, Mayaguez, and Rio Piedras), the Mastodons are a combined 12-2.
This is the first time IPFW has traveled to Puerto Rico since 2012, when the Mastodons split two matches with the Gallitos. In the 2012 trip, the Blue and White took the first match against P.R.-Rio Piedras, 3-2, on January 6, while falling, 3-1, the following day.

Andrew Sellan ranks second for Division I active career leaders in kills (1,143) and attempts per set (2,553), while sitting third in Division I for kills per set (3.50) and total attempts (2,553). Amongst all divisions, Sellan is fifth in kills and kills per set, while being sixth in attempts per set and seventh in total attempts. With his performance against No. 8 Loyola on February 20, senior libero Luis Bertran broke the IPFW career mark for most digs, previously held by All-American Jay Golsteyn (1986-89). IPFW will became the third MIVA program and fifth outside of California to reach the 1,000 match plateau. Head coach Ryan "Rock" Perrotte is in his 17th year with IPFW, and first as the head coach. During his time as a Mastodon, Perrotte has been a part of 437 matches, going 261-182 (.589). As a student-athlete, Perrotte helped the 'Dons to a 22-5 record in 1999, winning the MIVA Tournament and reaching the NCAA Final Four against Long Beach State (L, 3-2). As the assistant coach, Perrotte helped the Blue and White win back-to-back MIVA Tournaments and reaching the NCAA Final Four in 2006 and 2007. During those seasons, the 'Dons went a combined 46-15, reaching the NCAA Championship against UC Irvine in 2007.On the Attack...
