Cincinnati Tops Fort Wayne Men’s Soccer 3-0

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne Mastodons men's soccer team fell to the Cincinnati Bearcats 3-0 on Monday (Aug. 29) afternoon at the Warrior Athletic Field in their second contest of the 2016 season.
The 0-0 deadlock was broken in the 22nd minute when Cincinnati's Adam Wilson scored off a cross from Patrick Nielsen. Ryan Melink also earned an assist on the goal.
The 'Dons earned the majority of quality chances for the next 40 minutes before the Bearcats put the game away with two second half goals. JJ Iroh scored in the 66th minute off the assist from Jack Clark. Austin Smythe added the final goal for the Bearcats in the 79th minute with David Sanz and Iroh helping find Smythe in close to tap it in the goal.
The 'Dons outshot the Bearcats 12-11. Oscar Uyamadu had four shots for the home club.
Cincinnati moves to 1-0 with the win. The Mastodons fall to 1-1.
The 'Dons are back in action on Friday (Sept. 2) for their first road contest of the season. Start time against Western Michigan is set for 5 p.m.
