Korperich Scores But ‘Dons Drop Road Contest At Western Michigan 2-1

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Fort Wayne men's soccer dropped a non-conference contest at Western Michigan on Friday (Sept. 2) evening by the score of 2-1. All three goals came in the second half.
The Broncos broke the scoreless tie in the 60th minute on a goal by Jay McIntosh. Three minutes later Connor McNulty extended the Broncos' lead to 2-0 with a tally.
The Mastodons cut the lead in half in the 85th minute when Thilo Körperich scored on a free kick for the first goal of his Mastodons' career.
Western Michigan held a 13-9 edge in shots and a slight 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.
The 'Dons fall to 1-2. The Broncos improve to 3-0. Fort Wayne returns to action on Sunday in a road match against Horizon League opponent Green Bay.
