Graydon Schroeder is ranked third in the MIVA and 18th nationally in blocks per set with 1.00 for a total of 18. Schroeder had five blocks against No. 8 UC Irvine and Saint Francis (Pa.). Richie Diedrich and Michael Keegan each have 12 blocks, good for 0.63 and 0.57 blocks per set respectively.
Freshmen Killin' It
Freshman Pelegrin Vargas is starting off his freshman campaign with Fort Wayne on a strong note. He is the Mastodons' kill leader, totaling 67 through six matches. Vargas had a career-high 15 kills against CSUN at the UCSB ASICS Invitational, then matched that with another 15 against Saint Francis (Pa.) at home. Vargas has reached double-digit kills in four matches so far this season. Fellow freshman Richie Diedrich has 33 kills, while also chipping in 12 blocks, tied for second best on the Mastodon squad.

The Mastodons took Saint Francis (Pa.) to five sets, falling 15-11 in set five. Fort Wayne then fell to No. 14 Penn State in straight sets.
Next Time Up
The Mastodons return home after the three-game road trip to face George Mason and NJIT on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 27-28). Both matches will be at 7 p.m. at the Gates Center on Arnie Ball Court.
