Softball Set for First of Two Tournaments in Florida

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Fort Wayne softball team kicks off its 10-day trip to Florida when the Mastodons participate in the Under Armour Invitational hosted by South Florida March 3-5.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are coming off the Black & Orange Challenge where they went 2-2. The 'Dons dropped both games on day one to Marist and Mercer, before getting revenge on day two by defeating both teams. Lauren Watson and Kelly Pevely each finished with five hits on the weekend. Pevely added two home runs and a double to finish with a .857 slugging percentage. Sydney Windlan and Caitlyn DeLong each collected three hits in the tournament, including DeLong's walk-off single against Marist.
In the circle, Olivia White earned her first win of the season, pitching a three-hit shutout over Marist. Elizabeth Snodgrass also earned a win in the game against Mercer while Bailey Benefiel picked up the save.
