Scouting the Mastodons (3-5): After going 1-3 last weekend in Cartersville, Ga., the 'Dons return to action at Little Rock where they will face the Trojans in a three-game series. Travis Upp and Jake Weber stayed hot for the Mastodons, as both are hitting above .500. Weber also has nine RBI's to lead the squad. On the mound, Josh Van Beek picked up the win against NJIT, pitching a scoreless sixth inning against the Highlanders. The game was finished by Brandon Phelps, who picked up the save. Phelps currently leads the 'Dons with a 2.57 ERA over seven innings.
Scouting the Trojans (2-6): After beating Purdue twice last weekend, the Little Rock Trojans turn their attention to Fort Wayne. Cameron Knight leads the squad batting .458, with 11 hits on the year. With 10 hits, including three doubles, in 25 at-bats, Hunter Owens is a close second, batting .400. Cory Malcom has recorded 22 strikeouts on the season in 14 innings pitched, while carrying a 1-0 record and a 0.64 ERA. In seven innings tossed, Cole Townsend has maintained a 0.00 ERA, giving up just four hits in that time.
