ABOUT THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons opened the year with a pair of exhibition victories, defeating Indiana Tech 4-2 and Valparaiso 3-1. Newcomer Romain Lopez scored three times and Matthew Lieshout recorded two goals in the exhibition season. The 'Dons out-shot their two opponents 41-11.
ABOUT THE RAIDERS
Wright State also earned two wins in their exhibition season. The Raiders defeated UNC Asheville 5-0 and Longwood 3-0. The Raiders were 11-6-3 last year, including 7-1-1 in the Horizon League, before falling in the Horizon League Championship 1-0 to UIC. Besides the Horizon League Coach of the Year in Bryan Davis, the Raiders return Second Team players Jackson Dietrich and AJ Patterson as well Freshman Team member Austin Kinney and fifth-year senior Sam DeRoy.
TOM IS TOPS
Junior midfielder Zach Tom was named a "Player to Watch" by the Summit League coaches. He was a 2016 Summit League First Team and Academic All-League Team selection and tallied 12 points (five goals, two assists) last season.
SERIES HISTORY
The 'Dons are 1-10 all-time against Wright State. The lone victory came in 2005 5-1 in Fort Wayne. Last season the two clubs played an exhibition with the game ending in a scoreless tie.

Fort Wayne welcomes Dayton to Fort Wayne on Sunday (Aug. 27) at 4:00 p.m. for the regular season home opener. It will be the second game of a doubleheader with the Fort Wayne women hosting Evansville at 1 p.m.
