Senior De'Jour Young become the 20th member of the Mastodons' 1,000-point club on Dec. 19 against Valparaiso. Kierstyn Repp hit Young with a bounce pass down the lane for a layup at the 6:53 mark of the second quarter. Young went on to finish with a career- and game-high 14 rebounds, to go along with 13 points. She's the first Mastodons since now assistant coach Haley Seibert joined the club on Dec. 6, 2014.
Swatting More Flies...
The Mastodons reached double-digit blocks for the second time this season, but this time, they tied the program record with 11 blocks against Goshen on Dec. 16. The 11 blocks tied a program mark which has been reach twice before, Nov. 23, 2010 against Indiana Tech and Dec. 2, 2005 against Kalamazoo. Individually, Jaelencia Williams five blocks are the most by a Mastodon since Ariana Simmons also had five against Ball State on Dec. 29, 2013.
