‘Dons Rally But Fall In Extras At Alabama A&M 8-7

It was a day of rallies for both teams. Fort Wayne fell behind 5-1 after four innings but pushed back in the middle innings. Brandon Yoho and Brock Logan each had an RBI double in the fifth to make it 5-3. Shannon Baker added an RBI single in the sixth to make it a one-run game and then Travis Upp homered in the eighth to tie the score at five.
Alabama A&M responded in the bottom of the eighth to make it a 6-5 game. The top of the ninth saw the 'Dons rally. Yoho walked and then scored on a Dylan Wilbert double two batters later. Wilbert came around on an RBI single by Baker to give the 'Dons a 7-6 lead.
The Bulldogs tied it after a single and a double to open the ninth and then won it with a single run in the 10th.
Dalton Huffman suffered the loss for Fort Wayne. He is 0-1. Lemuel Lackey earned the win, he is 1-0 for the Bulldogs.
Yoho finished with three runs scored. Wilbert had three hits. The 'Dons earned seven walks on the day.
The second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to darkness. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday.
