Yoho hit his grand slam in the seventh inning to put the Mastodons up 7-5. It came with the 'Dons down 5-3. Butler had rallied to take the lead after Fort Wayne led 3-1 after three innings. Yoho's home run wouldn't stand up as Butler tied it with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh and then added the game winner in the eighth.
The 'Dons went 1-2-3 in the ninth, but had a chance in the eighth to take the lead again after a pair of two-out walks. However they were stranded to end the frame.
Fort Wayne out-hit the Bulldogs 9-8 with Brady Hettinger recording two hits and two runs scored. Jacob Dickson also had a pair of hits.
Brandon Phelps started on the mound and earned a no decision after allowing two runs in four innings. Cameron Boyd, who threw the final 1.1 innings, suffered the loss. Kevin Napoleon received the win for Butler. Jack Pilcher threw the ninth to pick up his third save of the season.
Butler and Fort Wayne will continue their series on Saturday with a 1 p.m. first pitch in Indianapolis.
