Scouting the Mastodons (6-24, 2-13 Summit): The Mastodons haven't played since Sunday, after a non-conference game scheduled for last Tuesday against IU South Bend was canceled. Shannon Baker (.345), Travis Upp (.290) and Jacob Dickson (.275) lead the 'Dons in hitting. Baker's .487 on-base percentage is best in the Summit League.
Scouting the Mavericks (13-19, 8-4 Summit): Omaha played only one game in a road series last weekend at Western Illinois due to weather. The Mavericks won the contest 8-5. This week Omaha lost at Creighton 9-2 and won at Nebraska 8-7. Grant Suponchick leads the team in hitting with a .303 mark. He owns a .404 on-base percentage.
Series History: Omaha leads 21-16. The two clubs haven't played in Fort Wayne since 2016, as last year's home series with Omaha was moved to the artificial turf fields of Westfield, Indiana.
Lucky 13: Duane Miller leads the team with 13 appearances on the mound. The sophomore is tied for fifth in the Summit League in appearances.
Mastodon Ironman: Brock Logan is the only Mastodon who has played in all 30 games this year. He didn't start in the lineup against Murray State on March 3, but came in the game to pitch. On March 9 at Butler he didn't start, but came in the game later and earned two walks.
Throwing Strikes: Damian Helm's 7.83 strikeouts per nine innings ranks sixth in the Summit League.
Looking Ahead: The Mastodons welcome Dayton on Wednesday, April 25 to Mastodon Field. It will be a 3 p.m. first pitch.
